The target demographic for the ground breaking live action / animation mix show, Skatoony is boys and girls aged 8 – 12. However, when I created Skatoony I wanted to pull off another little coup for Cartoon Network and pick up the younger 5 – 7 year olds along the way. To do this we kept the smart, snappy punchy dialogue, slightly older themes and high levels of adventure but we made sure the main character, Chudd Chudders reflected the younger audience’s wide-eyed wonder of the world around them.

Skatoony is jam packed with characters and over 150 appear through the 39 episodes produced so far so keeping the right mix of older and younger perspectives across such a wide cast was a challenge, but we did it and maintained high ratings across the entire series. We also picked up a BAFTA nomination along the way.

Continuing to serve as Creative Consultant on international versions of Skatoony,  (North America, India, Europe and the UAE) Whole hog successfully guided the show towards high ratings in culturally diverse territories.

Skatoony airs on Cartoon Network and Boomerang in Europe, Asia and the UAE and Teletoon in North America.
